Cache Placement Policies
Your Source for Area Parks and Communities Geocaching Policies
In an effort to be good ambassadors for the sport of Geocaching we have compiled contact information, policies and permissions information for local and state agencies. We encourage anyone placing a geocache to adhere to the specific guidelines for the area of their hide, in addition to the guidelines set forth by Groundspeak. If you have any additional information, or find any of this information to be incorrect or outdated, please share that information here for the rest of the Geocaching community.
Please remember the Groundspeak Guidelines state, “By submitting a cache listing, you assure us that you have adequate permission to hide your cache in the selected location.” It’s only required to ask permission from the property owner or manager, but if there are houses or businesses nearby it might be a good idea if you took a moment to introduce yourself and your cache to one or two of the neighbors. You could turn a potentially territorial muggle into an interested and friendly watch-dog, and perhaps save others some trouble.
